One of the most difficult aspects of managing distinct organisations is the incompatibility of the thousands of different software packages that companies use. OpenPlant has been designed with simple supply chain management as a major requirement. This is because so much cost is involved in the reconciliation of invoices, orders etc between companies. OpenPlant drastically reduces the need for such administrative work by providing suppliers with a logon to it, which enables them to view simple specific information relating to orders that have been supplied. They can also report on and extract the information, as a csv or pdf file, which can be imported into their own accounting systems.
This optional section is currently undergoing design changes and it is envisaged that it will be expanded to allow for the electronic supply and reconciliation of invoices between companies that use OpenPlant, which will further eliminate the need for unnecessary administrative work and paper based records.
The Churchill version of OpenPlant will introduce the facility to send Purchase Orders automatically to the relevant supplier, by email or fax, when an order is confirmed on the system by a Plant Coordinator.
